"Another Halloween Ruined"

October 31st

It is Halloween tonight
There is no light
We did not have school Friday
We missed the senior Halloween holiday
Seniors, and only seniors, get to dress up
They can be anything from a chef to a wolf pup

I hope they reschedule it
It would be for their own benefit
I hope this storm ends soon
These winds are so strong they blew away the moon
I had the perfect costume
It was Minnie Mouse, but in a tomb

I lost it in the storm
The thought of that turns me very gloom
I hope next year Halloween is normal
You know, very paranormal
Happy Halloween Sandy!

  1. I really like how you said "These winds are so strong they blew away the moon". This is a very clever poem!

  2. I agree with Angela; this poem is very cleverly written! I was so disappointed that Halloween was ruined for the second year in a row, especially because I was excited to dress up and walk in the Halloween Parade in front of the whole school. Besides missing out on Halloween, Hurricane Sandy was terribly destructive and I hope we don't see a storm like it for a very long time! Great poem! :)
